Can eft (acupuncture) help im my problem? I take effexor xr 25 mg and have trying to ween myself off, but as I reduce my mg (half of a 25 pill and then half of that 4 pieces) I experience what they call Zaps im my head.Nuerons that go haywire in your head and can distract you and cause all kinds of problems emotionally> Can that be helped by acupucture or relief?I have been trying all kinds of different advice but to no avail!ive been on this for over 9 years.

First let me clarify that EFT works with the acupuncture meridians, but it is not acupuncture. It is similar to acupuncture in that the goal of the EFT tapping is also to balance and released blocked energy. However, EFT targets the emotions and their sensations in the body since EFT is founded on the premise that "The cause of all negative emotions is the disruption of the body's energy system."

With regard to your antidepressant questions, what EFT can help with is the felt effects of what you call Zaps which would be the distractions and the emotional problems that show up.

You can tap on those feelings directly and anything that shows up that may be underneath them. You will need the help of a professional EFT Practitioner if you are not already proficient in EFT to do a thorough job.

However, before working directly on those effects, I suggest clearing the feelings that you have around having “been trying all kinds of different advice but to no avail!” There is stuck energy under there and perhaps some deeper beliefs that could be contributing to keeping this problem stuck for so long.

EFT works like peeling an onion and these feelings around having this particular problem are the outer layer and will need releasing to get to the core layers.
